We’ve never — since we’ve been living here — have had a fall so colorful here in Middle Tennessee. But I have to add to this observation, we’ve not had such a wonderful spring and such a great “Long Island” summer either!
This tree in our backyard — a sugar maple I planted for the fall colors alone, this year finally has some color. Fall around here usually means — like the second tree picture from our front yard. Trees usually go from green to dead. This year however the color has been magnificent. Spring began just wet and cool enough for a beautiful beginning.
Compared to just the previous years with record hot temps and the entire region in a drought this spring was all everyone hoped it to be. Summer was even more amazing – mild temps, cool mornings and evenings were the dominant weather pattern. The amount of “pool” time I got in this summer was the least amount of all the past years. And now this perfect fall. What could possibly top this off — snow for Christmas?
