I can’t seem to get the year right — it’s not that I’m entering 2011 all the time instead I’m entering 2010! I’ve had a reset somewhere along the past week and can’t figure out how it happened? It seems to have affected our two dogs as well – one in particular keeps getting me up at 2 or 3 in the morning as if it is 6 when she normally goes out. She’s wide awake, jumping all around, crazy. I started trying to wear a watch again. My new consulting gig forces me to watch the time both for accounting purposes but to also keep me on task and on schedule. Problem is I can’t type and wear the watch too — bothers my left hand. I need to find a simple clock application for the iPad.
Added to this problem is the fact that we are currently living on the Eastern/Central time zone line. We live in Eastern — called “fast time” here, and I work in Central time zone called “slow time.” Well one school is in fast time and one is in slow time — live in fast, drive in slow, no wonder I don’t know the year no less the day, hour, or even where I am half the time!

Every year people make resolutions, strive to be better people, profess newfound religious beliefs, but how many actually walk the walk. How many really do lose those pounds, drop the drugs, stop being hypocritical. Very few because it is so easy to continue doing whatever it is we want or need — than to change to perhaps a more difficult, healthier, truthful path. I say this in reflection of my 63 years and with there being more years behind me than ahead, the motivation to be a better person increases. Not because of a shorter future than past, but more due to past failures to do the right thing.

So here’s to a new year, better things to come for everyone and may all your resolutions come true.
