Nashville TN to Sandy Creek NY

After finally getting our awning repaired at Family Campers in Lebanon, TN (great people and great service) we were almost on the road — first we had to finish opening the pool at the house.

20120619-100524.jpg Our first issue was to evict the winter residents from the pool before we could finish but with some elbow grease and some $$ we finished with the pool. Before leaving we spent the evening with these two characters

20120619-100740.jpg as an early Father’s Day dinner. We were almost asked to leave because of the amount of noise the loud family was making! Just the week before we had a belated Mother’s Day breakfast at IHop

Seems to be a food trend here …
Anyway our journey to upstate NY was great. Some beautiful campgrounds and one I’d pass in the future. This one in north eastern Tennessee called Rocky Top was very pretty.

20120619-101803.jpg as was the campgrounds in northern Virgina by the Luray Caverns called Luray RV Park!

20120619-102144.jpg The Luray RV Park had a sauna we used that night — felt great.
Then we got into Pennsylvania. Well things got a bit ugly. FIrst of all I-81 is nothing but construction gone bad in Pennsylvania. Then as usual, they like to hide their gas stations. On top of that the RV parks were, “shady” — the view out our front window — was a bit disturbing. I think they were all sharing the same tooth!
Anyway the rest of the trip upstate NY was uneventful and we are now safely parked on Pat and Buddy’s acre of paradise.

Beautiful woods, farm fields, memories of Geilenkirchen Germany from years ago.
