I don’t know what it is exactly about watching the sun rise over the eastern sky, but it is even more pleasurable when looking at it over the Atlantic.

Once while providing enroute support for a squadron of F-4’s I found myself on a very small island in the pacific, not much more than a runway built on a sand bar, and got to see both sunrise over the pacific and sunset. Did not appreciate it then, not at all. Monica and I sat on the beach in Rodanthe and just marveled at the beauty of this sunrise.

We were always joined by these small terns. So very busy scouring the beach for small crabs always mindful of the ocean waves pounding the surf just behind them.

Another day upon us, we take in the sights and sounds of another tough day on the beach before heading out to breakfast!
