Another great Bauernfeind Family Thanksgiving! Our family expands and contracts as life travels forward but our journey together is always a wonderful trip. Monica and I along with the boys, John Robert and Christopher James headed over to Rebecca’s on Wednesday and worked with Rebecca preparing the Thanksgiving meal.
First up was the Gluhwein not difficult but needs time.
Of course the turkeys have been defrosting in the sink will cold water for a few days until they are ready to go. We added Harvest Vegetable Streusel to this year’s menu and it was a hit as well as Fiesta Bread another wonderful add to the menu.
Of course the best part of the holiday is family. We had a wonderful, loving, sharing, holiday. Monica and I are still talking about how much fun we had, and how great it was to be with everyone! Veronica and Chris making the trip from Georgia along with Mekalia and Zach and Brandi and Brad who drove up the day before. Jessica and Shane, Christina and Brian round out the Nashville crew including Christopher and John!
At the end of the night someone brought out a card game, death to the cards, or cards of damnation, what the hell was the name of that game? It was wicked. Monica did learn a few new words everyone of them to never be repeated in the light of day! Of course the desserts were delicious ! Jessica added a new cake — well new to us using an old McCabe family recipe. A jam cake that was delicious and is now another Thanksgiving recipe addition!
