Elgin AFB

The first time I was at Eglin AFB was 1966.  Monica and I met there in 1972 after a couple of tours in S.E.A. and a year at Davis-Monthan AFB in Arizona.  We lived there until 1975 and I don’t remember visiting again until this trip.  We’ve been down the road at Panama City and Cape San Blas, even a few times in Destin but we’ve not travelled around the base and Niceville (small town where we lived North of the base) until now.  We’re staying in Destin at the Destin Army Recreation Center/RV Park on the bay just around the corner from the Destin Bridge.

It is beautiful here.  Today’s a bit overcast and a bit cool – mid 60s (sorry Nashville!)  Flowers and plants still in bloom and growing.

We’re here until early next week when we’re off for Biloxi, Mississippi and Keesler AFB FamCamp.  An RV park on the base.
