New Orleans

It had been since the early 70s when I last visited New Orleans with my sister Mary Ellen and while much has changed, the French Quarter is pretty much the same.  Monica and I loved New Orleans and in the little time we spent, there decided we must come back soon.

The weather could not have been better either.  I did learn that Mardi Gras started in early January – a 30 day celebration before the Fat Tuesday, last day of the month long party.

We also crossed the longest bridge in the US, the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway  and then visited Fontainebleau State Park  and the beautiful beach and grounds in the park.
